So this guy I used to know in Primary School added me on Facebook.
We went to separate secondary schools.
Then when I was 15 he got back in touch and proclaimed his undying love for me.. I didn't feel the same. He basically stalked me for a while. Calling me, appearing at my house. I got really creeped out. At one point he threatened to kill himself. I was never mean to him, or cruel, I know how much it can hurt to be rejected, so I was as nice as possible. Eventually I spoke to his parents, and he left me alone.
So yeah, he added me on facebook. I accepted, being nice, and because it says he has a girlfriend and that whole thing was five years ago..
But now, he's left a comment, just asking how I am, perfectly friendly, but of course my paranoia is going slightly into overdrive.
I might just leave it a few days, then reply, and try to end the conversation as quickly as possible.
Personally, I would leave it a few days then reply as you suggested. Maybe you could then see if he's really just wanting you back as a 'long lost friend' or not?
ReplyDeletepersonally i would delete and block and avoid him forever but i'm currently being stalked and it's doing my head in so maybe my advice is biased.
ReplyDeleteI would attempt to be friendly, but like you said, wait a few days to respond. If things get out of hand you can block him...but at least give him a chance to just be friendly instead of automatically assuming he's going to start all over.
ReplyDeletebut I think you handled it well back in primary and you'll do the same now.
